Columbia Main Street has chosen “Silver Bells in the City” as the theme of the 25th annual Christmas Parade scheduled for Monday, December 5, 7 p.m. in downtown Columbia. Marching bands, school groups, scouts, dance troupes, business and civic groups, sports teams, and church groups, along with classic automobiles and motorcycles are invited to join parade favorite “Snowbird” in the lighted event that kicks off the community’s holiday season.
The Silver Bells song lyrics provide plenty of inspiration for parade participants. Silver bells, strings of street lights, sidewalks dressed in holiday style, children laughing, shoppers with treasures smiling and greeting each other, the crunch of snow underfoot, and kids bunching to see Santa’s arrival.
Parade entry forms and guidelines are available at the Main Street office, 8 Public Square, 931-388-3647, and the Maury County Alliance and Chamber of Commerce, 106 W 6th Street, 931-388-2155. There is no entry fee and the registration deadline is set for November 21.
Are your ears ringing? Your entry can be very small or very large. Start creating your parade entries now and be sure to include bells.
