State officials say the more than 330 million dollars Governor Haslam has appropriated for the state’s colleges and universities is a good start considering they haven’t received sufficient funding in nearly four years. The governor laid out his bugget plans during Monday night’s State of the State address.
There are raises for state employees, more spending on construction on college campuses and tax cuts on food and inheritance in Governor Haslam’s budget proposal. The governor’s 31 billion dollar plan relies on rebounding revenues to avoid more drastic cuts.
