One lane of Interstate 65 in Maury County has reopened after a fiery tractor trailer crash Wednesday.
The crash happened just after 2 p.m. near mile marker 49 near Kedron Road.
Officials from the Tennessee Highway Patrol said that the crash involved a semi and several passenger vehicles.
The crash claimed the life of one person.
THP officials also reported that the tractor trailer had caught fire. The SUV was reported traveling southbound on I-65 and lost control. It then crossed the median, crashed into the tractor trailer in the northbound lane. The impact caused the SUV to spin into a pickup truck also traveling northbound.
The driver of the SUV was taken by medical helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center and died there. No one else was hurt.
Officials said the investigation was ongoing.
